it’s valla-time again: we proudly present two ‚panchetto‘ reclining chairs. the paddings are expertly reupholstered (including handstitching) in two different colour sets of the extremely elegant ‚grafico‘ fabric, collection ‚alchimia‘, by french luxury brand ‚elitis‘. they can be transformed into stools by adjusting the back rest, so they provide for a very flexible usage. the straight and lightweight frame structure is made from lacquered …

don’t call poul henningsen’s ‚artichoke‘ a lamp – it’s an iconic piece of illumination. designed in 1958 for the copenhagen restaurant ‚langelinie pavillonen‘ – and still in use there – it has a permanent place at moma new york (and in nearly every other design museum in the world). the artichoke consists of 72 leaves, sitting in rows of 6 …

1. November 2014

Eames‘ plasticchairs are omnipresent nowadays: practical, good-looking and loved by everyone. But when you’re not „everyone“ and would like to insert something special into your interior, here we’ve got a striking discovery: A pair of drafting chairs. Bright-red fibreglass sidechair shells on height-adjustable, swivelling drafting frames. Often the designs by Ray and Charles Eames took part at historical events. Chess …

Pretzel Chair.

1. November 2014

There are many Eames Lounge Chairs around, that doesn’t make the chair less beautiful, but it spurs us on to always find more extraordinary models. It worked again this time, we think. We start with a „once-in-a-lifetime-found“, produced by Vitra in the early 70s. Rio Rosewood that stands out due to its pronounced grain which tends to orange. It …

The egg came first.

1. November 2014

At least this Egg Chair. It comes from the first small production series, produced in 1958 – and it came without a seat cushion at that time. Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the lobby and reception areas of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The commission to design every element of the hotel building, including the furniture, was the …

1. November 2014

Also in 2019 we use our walls again to show some art. We start with the Hamburg-based artist Burkhard Schittny and his Schittny-Tubes. Whether in galleries, museums or at home on the wall: people like a close inspection of works of art. If you do this with „Tubes“ by Burkhard Schittny, then you might have a self-experience that expands …

one of the most sought-after eames‘ chairs: the rocking armchair rodbase (rar), in a not-so-often-found colour: crimson, a radiant red, perfect as a splash of colour in modern interiors. the fiberglass seat shells by ray & charles eames are a very common sight now, so when buying: try to get something a little bit special. Poul Kjaerholm (Denmark, 1929-80) is one of the most important furniture designers of the midcentury era. Vintage originals are immensely sought after and sold at design auctions to collectors worldwide. As a trained carpenter Kjaerholm developed a particular interest in different construction materials, especially steel, which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials. And, …
